CHEMISTRY CARD GAME – Learn chemistry from a cooperative science game where players build organic molecules from elements on the periodic table. In chemistry class, this is called covalent bonding.
STRATEGIC PLAY – A cooperative game about building organic molecules with strategy to engage an adult gamer, yet straightforward enough kids as young as 8 can play with family or in the classroom.
ACCURATE SCIENCE – All molecules, bonds, and science vocabulary are concepts covered in high school chemistry class, making it one of the best educational games teachers can use to teach science.

Description

Covalence is a cooperative, deduction-based card game modeled accurately around the basics of organic chemistry! Players must work together to build a number of organic molecules. But the challenge is, they have a limited amount of information and a limited number of clues.
One player is the Knower while all other players are the Builders. The Knower looks at the secret molecules assigned to each Builder and then gives each Builder clue cards that relate to their specific Molecule.
The Builders then attempt to deduce the structure of their Molecule by bonding their Elements in various arrangements until they believe their molecule matches the correct molecular structure.
As the game progresses, Builders may spend clues to get more information about their Molecule, but be careful, clues are limited! If each Builder is able to correctly build all of their Molecules before the clues run out, everyone wins!
Covalence is great for the science classroom or a game night with family and friends. Covalence encourages creative yet precise communication and collaboration and is great for groups that enjoy puzzle-style deduction games. All the concepts covered in Covalence are concepts that would be introduced in a basic high school level chemistry course. And it does so in a way that is fun and intuitive for everyone!
Covalence was created by a professor of game design who is also a chemical engineer and chemistry teacher!
